Why I Practice

Over the last 12 years, my ongoing yoga practice combined with psychological knowledge has taught me many valuable lessons: how to be kind and gentle with myself, how to understand and accept my body, and how to feel both fit and strong. It has played a vital role in my recovery from insomnia, addictions, and an eating disorder.

Through mindfulness techniques, I have changed my relationship with my thoughts, gaining greater awareness and control over unhelpful habits and negative self-talk. This has made me less susceptible to anxiety, fear, and distraction.

My Yoga Nidra practice has transformed the quality of my sleep, allowing me to find deeper, more restorative rest and helping me recover lost sleep.

A friend encouraged me to try a yoga class during a period of work-related burnout and intense stress. At first, I was reluctant—having previously favoured running, aerobic dance, and combat-style classes—but during that first session, I unexpectedly burst into tears on the mat. Something shifted. I connected with a tiny grain of calm I hadn’t felt before.

Since then, yoga has helped me feel happier and healthier, soothed my mind, moved me through grief, and equipped me to manage stress far more effectively.

Sally is an expert in tailoring and adapting the sessions to meet your own needs, from one to one sessions or private group sessions. Her Yoga Nidra is essential for those struggling to relax as it brings about a deep relaxation other practices may not do so as well. Thanks Sally.

Why I Teach

I love seeing people feel good in their bodies and grow curious about how their minds work. My passion is creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can be themselves, connect, let their guards down, and nurture self-acceptance.

Modern life often leaves us stressed, anxious, and exhausted. Through the deep relaxation of Yoga Nidra combined with mindfulness techniques, we can create space from stress and invite a profound sense of calm and wellbeing.

During my teacher training at InHarmony School of Yoga Therapy in Málaga, I became fascinated by the science behind yoga — how postures influence the nervous system, and how meditation and Yoga Nidra help re-wire the brain. This inspired me to work closely with clients experiencing sleep difficulties, addictions, and stress, using yoga and mindfulness to support mental health and recovery.

Alongside my yoga practice, I am a final-year trainee on the Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, which deepens my understanding of emotional wellbeing and enhances my ability to support clients holistically.

I encourage everyone I teach to connect their practice on and off the mat. I blend mindfulness, Hatha, Flow, Embodied Yoga principles, and especially Yoga Nidra, guiding you to move beyond a shapes-based practice and focus on awareness and what feels right for your unique body and mind.

Before focusing full-time on yoga, I worked for 15 years as a youth and community worker supporting homeless and refugee communities in Manchester and Brighton. I case-worked hundreds of people facing substance use disorders and mental health challenges, helping them take steps forward. I also taught mindfulness and yoga in a rehabilitation centre in Spain for addiction, eating disorders, and trauma.

My background makes me deeply empathic and intuitive to clients’ needs. My classes are inclusive and welcoming of all ages, abilities, body types, ethnicities, and backgrounds. I work holistically with private clients, meeting them exactly where they are.

For me, yoga is not about flexibility or performance. It’s about cultivating joy and awareness that everyone is dealing with something, and offering support along the way.

Sally is a wonderfully intuitive yoga teacher. She understands that yoga is for the individual rather than a fad and encourages you to find your own path. Her yoga Nidra sessions have really helped me sleep.
